Central Arizona College Maricopa Campus, Maricopa, Arizona
When architects set out to plan and develop Central Arizona College’s Maricopa Campus they wanted to deliver a sustainable design that reflected its location and the heritage of the community. Set in the desert, in an area rich with Native American history, architects envisioned a weathered look with deep, vivid rust and copper tones.
To ensure the unique appearance, Valspar’s Fluropon coating in Cor-Ten AZP was chosen to adorn the 76,000 square-foot facility. This coating achieves the look of Cor-Ten Steel through a two-step process using a print effect Floropon coating. First, a colored base coat is adorned to paneling followed by ink that is applied in a pattern to create the unique effect. The Fluropon coating, containing 70% PVDF resins, provides the strongest protection against weathering, aging, and pollution and exceptional color retention to preserve the beautiful aesthetic of the facility for years to come.
Fluropon® 70% PVDF coil coating systems provide the ultimate long-lasting protection against the elements.
Valspar offers the color, confidence and collaboration to bring every project successfully to life.
